DSC Software AG presents SAP-integrated content management at tcworld Conference 2008

The standard software Engineering Control Center by DSC Software AG permits enterprise content management in the SAP system. The structured filing of information ensures the transfer and safeguarding of corporate knowledge.

Karlsruhe, 21 November 2008. The tcworld conference 2008 for technical communication and documentation was held in Wiesbaden from 5 to 7 November. At this event, Karlsruhe-based software and consulting firm DSC Software AGB presented its Filesstandard software Engineering Control Center - ECTR - as a solution for enterprise content management. SAP offers technologies and methods for collecting, managing, storing, outputting and archiving electronic contents. Thanks to its intuitively operated GUI, Engineering Control Center facilitates content management and organization substantially.

Among the strengths of the SAP system is the company-wide management of documents of any kind. SAP content servers and archives are used for filing. ECTR permits the user-friendly collection, archiving, search and processing of all structured and unstructured information. Using ECTR does not require any special SAP knowledge because of ECTR’s intuitively operated GUI. The information can be filed in folders or - when using SAP Records Management - in electronic records. Access to these folders and records is controlled via the SAP authorization concept. As a result, all business units within the company always have access to up-to-date information and documents.

ECTR can be used to integrate various applications into SAP, such as systems for Microsoft Office, email, image editing, CAD or 3D publishing. The documents are linked with other SAP objects by using drag & drop. The SAP system guarantees all mechanisms for security, consistence and control. Consequently, all information is integrated and permanently available within the company-wide information flow. Companies profit from transparent and efficient handling processes throughout all business units.
