User-friendly SAP?!

SAP can be used to manage CAD data, engineering processes and documents. During its SAP PLM info day hosted in Karlsruhe on 17 February 2009, DSC Software AG demonstrated the advantages of combining SAP with DSC's standard software ECTR.

Karlsruhe, 20th Feb. 2009. According to the 2008 RAAD DMS study (1), SAP is Germany's favorite document management system - DMS. Companies using SAP already have in place all of the requirements needed for company-wide use and administration of information and documents. The SAP system is particularly user-friendly when combined with the intuitively operated standard software Engineering Control Center - ECTR. DSC's info dayoffered its customers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland an opportunity to discover these advantages. Keeping control of your documents with ECTR
The software and consulting firm used the "Generation and administration of manuals with SAP" as a practical example to demonstrate the options available with ECTR. Manuals are generated from texts and graphic charts. SAP manages these modules as independent documents; complete manuals are displayed as document structures. This modularization improves the re-use of the individual modules and simplifies change handling. Not only will this solution save companies time and money, it also simplifies the maintenance of technical documentation.

SAP integration platform ECTR
In addition, DSC Software AG presented the user-friendly and highly integrated ECTR solutions. These include CAD integration, release and change management, design collaboration and data exchange as well as 3D viewing and publishing in SAP. One of the main features offered by ECTR is the simple implementation of various applications. This practical application was demonstrated by a customer who described the world-wide SAP PLM implementation at his company. The event was completed by the presentation of the SAP PLM roadmap offered by a SAP representative.
